Hellen Yuan is a New York based Design Director, Production Consultant, Brand Growth Facilitator specializing in Luxury, Contemporary and Ready-to-Wear Womens Collections.

Born in Taiwan and raised in Los Angeles, her family owned several cashmere factories which helped her develop extensive knowledge about quality, design, fabrics and finishes at a young age. Later, she attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in California, and obtained a degree in Apparel Manufacturing and Product Development.

Hellen has been instrumental in launching designer labels such as HELLESSY, 6397, Á MOI, CHARLES WARREN, THE/END and LINDA LOUDERMILK which gained acclaimed success within the first few seasons.

She provides her clients with design direction and development, creative concepts, draping techniques, fabric printed artwork, international and domestic sourcing, merchandising, contract negotiations, structuring processes at the different growth stages and quality control. Clients rely on her expertise during the start up phase in working with the right fabric mills, factories and staffing team to support the growth of the business.

When approaching her designs, inspiration is derived from her profound love of art, photography, architecture, color and texture. She is inspired by the artworks of Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin, David Weir when looking for saturation in color and depth to compliment muted tones. Landscape photography also provides her with color blends to give pops of color into fabrics. Blending nature with the abstract world is key in her design and development process.
